This care may be provided in the home or on an inpatient basis. A hospice must be: (i) certified by Medicare as a hospice; (ii) recognized by Medicare as a hospice demonstration site; or (iii) accredited as a hospice by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals. A list of hospices meeting these criteria is available upon request.
